58 And it came to pass, that when Joshua had
finished these parables, he departed thence. and his disciples follow him.
59 And when he was come into his own country, And when the
sabbath day was come; he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were
astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
60 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called
Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
61 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath
this man all these things?
62 And they were offended in him. But Joshua said unto them,
A prophet is not without honour, save in his own
country, and among his own kin and in his own house.
63 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his
hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
64 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went
round about the villages, teaching.
